Biography
Dr. Ashraf Armia Balamoun has completed his MBBCh since 1995 from Cairo University of Egypt. He finished his Master degree in Ophthalmology MSc. since 2002 from Cairo University of Egypt. Finally, he finished his FRCS in Ophthalmology from Glasgow, UK since 2012. He also finished his FACS since 2017, USA. He is a Consultant Eye Surgeon at Al Watany Eye Hospital (WEH), Cairo, Egypt and a shareholder at the same hospital. He is also a board of training program at the same hospital. He is part of the Watany Research and Development Centre WRDC, Cairo, Egypt. He is the CEO of AshrafArmiaEyeClinic in Cairo, Egypt. He is an international lecturer and speaker since 2013 at the ASCRS, ESCRS, AAO and AECOS. He is a member of the family of the AECOS Europe since 2019. He has his instructional courses at the ASCRS and AAO. He is one of the Faculty members of “Cataract Surgery Telling It Like It Is” meeting in Orlando, USA, since 2019. He is invited by many ophthalmology societies as an international guest speaker in Romania, Armenia, India. Reviewer for the JCRS journal. He is editor for EC Ophthalmology Journal. He is a consultant cataract, cornea, refractive and anterior segment reconstruction surgeon. He is married and has two children. He loves travelling in leisure time. He enjoys watching soccer.
